Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce College

Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce College was established at our university on July 2, 2016 (Yong Gao Jiao [2016] No. 183). Under the leadership of the Ningbo Education Bureau, Ningbo Port Anti-Smuggling Office, Ningbo Municipal Commerce Commission, and other relevant departments, and with the guidance of the Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce Vocational Education Industry Steering Committee, the Institute is led by Zhejiang Wanli University to integrate educational resources from related institutions in Ningbo. It operates as an industry-specific institute under the leadership of a council with the president responsible. The Institute has established close ties with cross-border e-commerce industrial parks at various levels and strengthened cooperation with leading enterprises in the field. It aims to become a collaborative platform for the cross-border e-commerce industry that integrates “talent cultivation and training, collaborative innovation, entrepreneurship incubation, and policy consultation services.” This platform will provide strong talent support and intellectual backing for Ningbo’s major strategy of promoting the “National (Ningbo) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone” and driving industrial transformation and upgrading.

The Secretariat of Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce College is housed at Zhejiang Wanli University, with the School of Logistics and E-commerce at Zhejiang Wanli University serving as its implementing entity.

Over the past decade of exploration and practice, Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce College has forged a path of deep integration among universities, governments, and enterprises, achieving remarkable results.

It has established a “5221” four-stage progressive and whole-process integrated talent cultivation model. The institute has implemented a “2.5+1.5” special class talent cultivation program across different schools and majors, with related achievements earning one first prize each at the provincial and municipal levels for teaching achievements. It has constructed a four-level curriculum system comprising “professional foundation courses + professional core courses + specialized direction courses + industry practice courses,” and collaborated with enterprises to establish five course clusters. Eight courses have been selected as provincial first-class courses, and three projects have been selected for the “13th Five-Year Plan” new-form textbook development project for ordinary higher education institutions in Zhejiang Province. Additionally, three projects have been selected for the “14th Five-Year Plan” first batch of key textbook development projects for new engineering, new liberal arts, new medical sciences, and new agricultural sciences at ordinary undergraduate universities in Zhejiang Province. The college promotes case-based and project-based teaching, co-developing 30 teaching cases with enterprises.

It has established a university-enterprise cooperation model featuring entrepreneurship in cross-border e-commerce positions. The college has constructed a full-chain practical collaborative cultivation system for cross-border e-commerce entrepreneurship education, incubation, and entity entrepreneurship, co-establishing and sharing a cross-border e-commerce entrepreneurship incubation center with eBay. It collaborates with Ningbo Haoya Import and Export Group and Ningbo International Logistics Development Co., Ltd. to provide co-constructed laboratories and shared e-commerce operation management software, comprehensively enhancing the effectiveness of innovation and entrepreneurship practices.

A number of university-enterprise integrated cross-border e-commerce talent cultivation bases have been established. The college has introduced eBay China, Amazon, and others to co-construct talent cultivation bases, co-assemble teaching teams, co-develop training curriculum systems and courses, and co-build training bases. It has established a cross-border e-commerce entrepreneurship practice base for university students, a provincial-level industry-education integration demonstration base for cross-border e-commerce, and a provincial-level joint graduate cultivation base. It has formed a cross-border e-commerce internship and practice ecosystem centered around “five centers, one area, and one forum,” including a cross-border e-commerce agency operation center, a product online marketing training center, an open mobile e-commerce operation training center, a shared innovation and entrepreneurship evaluation center, an innovation and entrepreneurship project incubation center, a cross-border e-commerce O2O exhibition area, and a maker forum.
