Course Description:

Management Communication is a core compulsory course for Business Administration majors. This course aims to help students master communication strategies in different managerial contexts through a combination of theoretical learning and practical exercises. The course covers various aspects of communication, including self-communication, interpersonal communication, team communication, cross-cultural communication, and written communication. It also explores critical issues in modern business communication, such as crisis communication and green communication in management. The course emphasizes both the practical application of communication skills and their significance in management roles, with a special focus on how organizations can effectively convey corporate social responsibility and sustainability values in a rapidly evolving business environment.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Students will gain a clear understanding of the fundamental principles, skills, and methods of management communication, particularly in the areas of green communication and social responsibility communication, and apply them in corporate settings.

Develop public speaking abilities, allowing them to confidently deliver messages in public forums.

Enhance active listening and feedback skills to improve teamwork and cross-cultural communication effectiveness.

Learn to formulate effective communication strategies that align with organizational goals.

Develop a positive and proactive communication mindset, manage emotions effectively, recognize crises, and embrace a collaborative and win-win management philosophy.

Teaching Methods:

This course adopts the CESIA experiential teaching model, which consists of five phases:

Create – Designing real-life business scenarios.

Experience – Engaging students in hands-on communication exercises.

Share – Encouraging reflection and discussion on their experiences.

Integrate – Connecting real-world cases with theoretical knowledge.

Apply and Innovate – Encouraging students to implement and improve communication strategies.

Specific teaching methods include:

Lectures – Providing theoretical knowledge and case studies to help students understand the foundations of management communication.

Practical exercises – Including role-playing, communication games, and situational simulations to strengthen hands-on skills and teamwork.

Group discussions – Encouraging students to present team projects, engage in class debates, and share learning experiences.

Action learning – Designing real-world business scenarios where students apply communication theories to solve practical problems.

 

Assessment Methods:

Grades consist of continuous assessment (50%) and a final exam (50%).

Continuous assessment includes two parts: individual performance (20%) and team performance (30%).

Individual performance is based on students’ self-learning abilities, class participation, and the quality of their assignments.

Team performance is assessed based on group project completion, work quality, and teamwork collaboration.

The final exam (50%) evaluates students’ understanding of communication theories, mastery of communication skills, and ability to apply communication concepts to real-world business problems.
