Course Description:

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a compulsory course for Business Administration majors. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the basic principles of ERP and the operational functions of ERP software systems. Through this course, students will learn to manage business processes with ERP, guided by management principles and supported by information technology. They will gain the ability to set up business data sets, master the functionalities of key ERP modules, and understand the interrelationships between different business functions within an enterprise.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Understand the development, functions, and current applications of ERP systems.

Master the historical evolution of ERP and the characteristics of its various stages.

Familiarize with the functionalities of different ERP modules and their interdependencies.

Be able to utilize ERP systems for business resource planning, including Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

Develop the ability to analyze and address common management issues in manufacturing enterprises.

Acquire proficiency in using ERP software to manage core business functions.

Cultivate independent learning and lifelong learning habits while upholding socialist core values.

 

Teaching Methods:

The course employs a variety of instructional methods, including heuristic lecturing, case studies, hybrid online and offline learning, and hands-on lab exercises.

Theoretical instruction: Key concepts and complex topics are introduced through teacher-led lectures and case discussions.

Experimental learning: Students engage in hands-on ERP software training, utilizing online learning resources and instructional videos for self-study and teamwork.

Practical exercises: Business scenarios and case simulations are integrated to reinforce ERP concepts and enhance problem-solving skills.

 

Assessment Methods:

Assessment consists of 50% continuous evaluation and 50% practical performance.

Students' performance is comprehensively assessed through quizzes and assignments assigned via the Moodle platform.

The evaluation includes a variety of formats such as multiple-choice questions, single-choice questions, true-or-false questions, experimental operation screenshots, screen recordings, planning table calculations, PowerPoint presentations, and lab reports.

These components are designed to thoroughly assess students’ understanding and application of ERP concepts.
