Course Description:

Modern Logistics is designed to equip students with fundamental theories, knowledge, skills, and methods in modern logistics. The course emphasizes not only theoretical understanding but also the development of practical operational abilities, enabling students to apply what they have learned to solve real-world logistics problems. Special attention is given to green logistics and sustainable development, aiming to build students’ awareness and capabilities in these critical areas.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

Understand the basic concepts of logistics management and its significance in the national economy;

Apply core topics such as inventory management, transportation planning, and warehouse management in practical contexts;

Use logistics information systems and technology tools for data analysis and decision-making;

Grasp global logistics trends, particularly in international and smart logistics;

Strengthen their awareness of green logistics and promote sustainable practices through case analysis and practical training;

Develop teamwork, professional ethics, and a strong sense of social responsibility, laying a solid foundation for their future careers.

 

Teaching Methods:

The course adopts a “Four-in-One” blended teaching model, integrating classroom lectures, MOOC learning, case-based and project-based learning, and research-based learning. This multi-modal approach enhances student engagement and practical application capabilities. At the same time, the course incorporates moral education by organically combining logistics knowledge with character-building elements, supporting students' all-around development.

 

Assessment Methods:

Final grades consist of continuous assessment (50%) and a final exam (50%).

Continuous assessment is divided into online (50%) and offline (50%) components:

Online assessment is based on performance on the MOOC platform, including video completion, assignments, and quizzes.

Offline assessment includes seminar performance (80%) and attendance (20%).

The final exam is an open-book test featuring diverse question types that comprehensively evaluate students’ analytical reasoning, computational logic, and innovative thinking skills.
