Course Description:

Reading, Writing, and Discussion of Professional Literature is a course designed for undergraduate students in Business Administration to improve their ability to read, organize, and write academic literature. Through systematic instruction and training, students will master the full process from topic selection to the writing of literature reviews, develop strong reading habits and independent research skills, and lay a solid foundation for producing high-quality graduation theses. The course emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, adherence to academic norms, avoidance of academic misconduct, and incorporates ideological and political education to help students establish correct values.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Understand the basic concepts of reading and writing academic literature and its role in scholarly research;

Master appropriate topic selection techniques and methods for literature searching;

Become familiar with the structure and requirements of writing a literature review.

Be able to efficiently search for and organize relevant literature;

Develop the ability to synthesize and critically evaluate academic sources;

Improve independent learning skills and the ability to investigate research questions.

Foster rigorous academic attitudes and sound professional ethics;

Cultivate positive learning habits and a value-oriented mindset;

Strengthen teamwork and critical thinking abilities.

 

Teaching Methods:

The course primarily adopts case-based and seminar-style teaching methods, including:

Case-based instruction: Real cases are used to explain the entire process of topic selection, literature searching, outline drafting, and literature review writing, helping students understand and master relevant skills.

Seminars: Students participate in topic presentations, discussions on literature review writing, and receive targeted feedback to enhance interaction and application.

Independent learning: Students are encouraged to independently review literature (at least 15 Chinese-language articles and 1 foreign-language article) and improve their literature processing and analysis skills through self-study.

 

Assessment Methods:

Final grades consist of autonomous learning performance (50%) and process-based performance (50%):

Autonomous learning performance (50%): Evaluated based on the final version of the literature review submitted by the student. Assessment criteria include the professionalism of the topic, the adequacy of literature reviewed, logical organization, and overall quality of the review.

Process-based performance (50%):

Literature reading list and resource file (15%): Assessed based on the list and supporting materials submitted.

Outline drafting and preliminary report (15%): Evaluates the student’s initial research output and presentation skills.

Attendance and class participation (20%): Based on attendance records and classroom engagement.
