Course Description:

Innovative Project Design is an elective course designed for undergraduate students in Business Administration. The course aims to cultivate students’ innovation capacity, teamwork skills, and problem-solving abilities through a combination of theory and practice, preparing them to apply creativity effectively in their future careers.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

Understand the definition, types, and significance of innovation in economic and social development;

Improve their ability to identify and solve problems through creative thinking;

Develop teamwork and collaboration skills by participating in all stages of project development as active members of a team, experiencing the full lifecycle from team formation to maturity;

Learn how to write a business plan by understanding its purpose, importance, structure, and how to present it to potential investors;

Engage in autonomous learning and reflection through case studies, innovation forums, and writing reflective reports to deepen their understanding of innovation;

Develop ethical awareness and a sense of social responsibility through the integration of ideological education, fostering positive values and a spirit of contribution.

 

Teaching Methods:

This course adopts a variety of instructional methods to promote teacher–student interaction and teamwork among students. Methods include:

Case Discussions: Analyze exemplary business cases to help students understand the practical value of innovation;

Role-Playing: Simulate real-life scenarios to allow students to experience challenges encountered during the innovation process;

Project Presentations: Students present their own innovation project designs, improving their communication skills and self-confidence;

Field Research: Organize site visits to innovation practice bases to broaden perspectives and inspire creativity.

 

Assessment Methods:

Final grades are composed of three components:

Class Performance (50%): Evaluated based on class participation, discussion contributions, attendance, assignments, and group performance. Special emphasis is placed on students’ moral conduct, sense of responsibility, professionalism, and teamwork within project teams.

Midterm Assessment (20%): Based on a group presentation of a market research report, assessing students’ sensitivity to market needs and analytical skills.

Final Exam (30%): Students are required to submit a project plan, which will be assessed for their innovative thinking, creativity, and ability to apply innovation methods.
