Course Description:

Business Ethics and Law is designed to cultivate students’ professional competence through a structured and modular teaching framework. The course focuses on essential legal knowledge related to market entities, including Company Law, Bankruptcy Law, and Labor Law, while integrating the basic theories of business ethics and law. Special emphasis is placed on moral education, integrity, and legal compliance, with the goal of developing students' legal awareness, critical thinking, and business management capabilities.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

Understand the fundamental theories of business ethics and law and acquire knowledge of enterprise legal systems, including laws on sole proprietorships, partnerships, companies, and bankruptcy, to regulate the conduct of market entities;

Become familiar with the legal framework governing market behaviors, including the Contract Law, Negotiable Instruments Law, Guarantee Law, Insurance Law, Anti-Monopoly Law, Anti-Unfair Competition Law, Product Quality Law, and Consumer Rights Protection Law;

Learn the legal system of social security, including the Labor Law and Social Security Law, and develop an awareness of employee rights and responsibilities;

Improve legal literacy and comprehensive capabilities, with an emphasis on ethical standards and the ability to solve complex problems;

Demonstrate critical thinking and practical innovation abilities, along with leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills, while applying professional knowledge to analyze and identify complex legal and ethical issues.

 

Teaching Methods:

This course adopts a combination of teacher-led heuristic lectures and case-based seminar discussions, encouraging active student participation and the application of legal knowledge in real-world scenarios.


Assessment Methods:

The final grade consists of two components:

Class Performance (50%): Based on participation in class activities and group discussions/assignments. This encourages student engagement and independent learning.

Final Exam (50%): Includes single-choice, multiple-choice, true/false, short-answer, essay, and case analysis questions. The exam assesses students' understanding and ability to apply what they have learned.
