Zhejiang Wanli University is the first university in Ningbo to offer a Digital Economy program. The Digital Economy program boasts several distinguished platforms, including a Zhejiang Provincial First-Class Discipline in Management Science and Engineering, a Master's Degree program in Engineering Management with a focus on Digital Supply Chain, a Key Research Base for Philosophy and Social Sciences in Zhejiang Province, one of the first batches of Modern Industrial schools receiving key support from Zhejiang Province, and an industry school co-founded with local governments—the Rural Cultural Tourism and Common Prosperity Industry School. The program offers two specialized module directions: Digital Operations and Digital Trade.
Based on the development needs of Zhejiang’s digital economy, our program aims to cultivate high-quality, innovative, interdisciplinary, and application-oriented talents who systematically master the fundamental theories and methods of economics, management, and digital technologies. Graduates are expected to be familiar with the development of the digital economy industry and new business models in the new era, and possess theoretical application and practical innovation capabilities in the digital economy. Upon graduation, students can enter government agencies and public institutions to engage in digital economy-related industrial planning, digital economy industry management, and departmental digital applications. They may also join digital economy platform companies (such as Alibaba, JD.com, TikTok, etc.) or digital innovation enterprises, where they can work in digital operation management, digital new media operations, and the planning and implementation of new digital business models and formats. Additionally, they can enter enterprises to engage in digital trade, digital supply chain planning and design, and enterprise digital operation management. Other career paths include pursuing domestic postgraduate studies, international further education, or starting their own businesses. The main courses offered by this program include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Digital Economics, Case Studies in Digital Economy, Data Mining and Visualization, Principles and Applications of Blockchain, Digital Economy Statistics, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data Management and Applications.
The standard duration of study for this program is four years, leading to a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.
